The University of Tennessee is consolidating physical and mental health services and the health education- related safety, environment, and education center in a single 90,000 sq. ft state of the art health care facility; designed to provide outpatient health services and information to the student body. Based on the plans for the new health care facility, the design team intends to meet silver certification for LEED (Leadership in Environmental & Energy Design).
This new health care center features thirty exam rooms, ten doctor’s offices, ten nurses stations, a laboratory, pharmacy, x-ray suite, urgent care facilities, physical therapy center, women’s clinic, allergy clinic, counselling center and many other services and ancillary spaces. All of these services will be accessed on the two main floors. A basement level will provide storage and facility support.
